The MUBIA, the Geomuseo delle Biancane, is an act of love and gratitude for Monterotondo Marittimo, where geothermics was born and the development of the area started: from the discovery of the boric acid to electricity production. In the MUBIA visitors can discover geodiversity, learn how minerals and rocks have formed and can understand why the ground here is so warm and white. The main character of the museum is “Gea”, the mother earth, not “Geothermics,” which is already widely celebrated in other museums of this area.

From the motorway from Grosseto with exit in Follonica, direction Massa Marittima (from Follonica 32 km). From the motorway from Rosignano Marittimo with exit in Venturina passing through Suvereto (from Venturina 30km).

From Florence passing through Volterra, Pomarance and Castelnuovo V.C. (from Volterra 48 km). Nearest airports: Florence and Pisa. Nearest railway stations: Campiglia Marittima and Follonica.
